Effortless Hostess Outfits for the Upcoming Spring Season!

Theo Pace

Alice and Olivia Denim Romper

Alice and Olivia Denim Romper

Are you hosting a celebration at home this Spring? a Graduation Party? or even just a gathering? I like to have some “go to’s” to make hosting effortless (at least the outfit part!)

I love hosting gatherings and it doesn’t even have to be for a specific occasion or holiday. I prefer having company over so that we can relax and spend some quality time together without rushing out of a restaurant and cutting a visit short. Ever since we moved to Florida, it has been especially important for us to host dinners or cookouts. It has been a nice way to get to know other families and make new friends.

I enjoy making the evening a little more special by adding some small touches.

I like to try out some tasty apps or a unique novelty drink. It almost always is something Greek so that people have a little taste of our ethnicity. I like guests to feel welcome here and want them to look forward to another visit.

The same applies to my outfits. I like to put thought into what I’m wearing because I feel putting effort into my outfit says “This is special and I’m so glad you came!”

I’m going to list some do’s and don’ts and then at the end show you some of my fav hostess outfits. I’m going to make this quick because I bet if you’re hosting you already have enough to do!

Choose…

  • Something that doesn’t make you hot! If you’re like me and experiencing your own personal Summers you don’t need to wear something that doesn’t breathe! I try to choose short sleeves, sleeveless or sleeves that once rolled up, stay up!

  • An outfit that doesn’t require uncomfortable shoes. I always try to pick an outfit that coordinates with a platform, flatform, ballet flat or sandal.

  • An outfit that isn’t fussy. For example, if you’re using your oven you don’t need long flowy sleeves that will get in the food or in the dishwater!

  • Choose an outfit that you have worn before so you know how comfortable it is.

    Stay away from…

  • Clothes that need to be dry cleaned.

  • Necklines that are low. If you’re serving your guests an appetizer that is all you want to serve them!!

  • Clothing that needs altering and you just haven’t had the chance to get it done. If pants need to be hemmed and you are dying to wear the outfit make sure to do it prior to your company. You don’t want to be tripping over them!

  • An excess of jewelry. Long necklaces and lots of bangles can get in the way.

  • Don’t pick something that is so dressy your company will feel like they missed the memo.

Here are some suggestions from this season and my most fav stores and designers…

2019-04-13 20.04.00.jpg

You may have seen this outfit from one of my posts about Blessed Boutique. Ecru shorts-The most flattering bottoms, every woman should own. Kanna shoes-like walking on pillows-another wardrobe must-have! Comfy and cute…any tee or top will pair so well with these shorts.

This outfit is great for a cookout and the wedge sandal takes the casual feel up a notch. Cute for hosting a ladies lunch for mom’s (before school is released for Summer!)

James Perse knit shirts are so comfy and have been on their line for a long time. They are tried and true…I wear them back with so many bottoms. I enjoy any khaki pant but especially this one from Zadig et Voltaire. The black and gold stripe adds some fun interest and so do the Meline sneakers.

I love this feel for something a little more casual. I would wear this when hosting the kids friends and families.

And, when we want to celebrate an accomplishment, like 8th grade moving up, this is how I would get Spring Festive. A little funky with the sequin Rolling Stone tee and Leopard Skirt, from Alice and Olivia. (Of course I’d leave the leather jacket out).

This outfit screams “Let’s celebrate!”

I hope you enjoyed my selections…there can be so many more to choose from. Still stuck? Check out Ways to Work With Theo…I’d love to help!

Runway to School Pick Up-How to Bring Spring Trends to Everyday Life!

Theo Pace

IMG_3408.JPG

Every new Season, I love to look at the New Fashion Trends. The Runway shows always look so exciting. How do we translate these looks from The Red Carpet to Pick Up Lines? or Part Time/Full Time work?

I thought it would be fun to pick just a few of my favorite Spring/Summer Trends and tell you how I would tailor them to my life. As you know, I’m a blogger, a stylist, mother, wife and friend. So, my wardrobe is all over the map, and yet, it’s never on the runway or red carpet!

What would stop me from hopping on a trend?

Prabal Gurung-Neon / Marc Jacob-Feathers MarineSerre-Scuba /Chanel-Bike Shorts

Prabal Gurung-Neon / Marc Jacob-Feathers MarineSerre-Scuba /Chanel-Bike Shorts

Now, that I’m a little older and a little wiser, I know to ask myself…”Will I wear this next Spring/Summer season?” If the answer is “probably not” I will not purchase it, even if it’s inexpensive. Neon is supposed to be “on trend” this Spring/Summer but it’s not one that I can see myself wearing now or down the road.

My favorite bird-Charlie

My favorite bird-Charlie

The other reason I wouldn’t get on the “trend train” is if the item is just not me. A couple of trends that are also happening right now are Feathers, Scuba Fabric and Bike Shorts.

I’ll keep the Feathers on my birds.

I’ll save Scuba Fabric for The Juno Beach Surfers.

And Bike Shorts…Thanks Chanel, but I’ll save that for the bike-and even that’s a maybe!!

There are always more than a few trends in a Season. My Top 3 Favorites this Spring/Summer are the Exploded Gingham, Mellow Yellow and the Updated Safari Trend.

Altuzarra Gingham Trend Brandon Maxwell Yellow Mellow Zimmerman Updated Safari

As much as I LOVE all of these designs, they just aren’t great for school pick up and every day life. So, here are a few of my picks that can take the look from the Runway to Every Day.

Let's take Gingham from Runway to Every Day.

UO-Gingham Crop Pant /Curate Boutique-Neely and Chloe Handbag/ Curate Boutique-HutchDress

UO-Gingham Crop Pant /Curate Boutique-Neely and Chloe Handbag/ Curate Boutique-HutchDress

Gingham! I love the Exploded Check Idea. It’s so dramatic.

But, are you really going to wear this next year? I think gingham is fresh and screams Spring! I also love the different color combinations you can find it in! I do love to shop local but found these crop pants from UO irresistible! They are so lightweight and have a great fit! They also come in lavender and cream. In the picture above I paired them with a graphic tee and below with a fun scarf from UO too. Find them here…Gingham Crop Pants

The cute red and white gingham handbag is by Neely and Chloe and housed at one of my all-time fav boutiques, Curate in North Palm Beach. I just love the clear top!

This gingham silk dress (by Hutch) is also from Curate. It is soooo flattering on and I love how Hutch incorporated a little ruffle down the front and along the hem. It adds a real feminine flair (another Spring Trend). You can find Curate here…Curate Clothes Boutique - North Palm Beach-Insta Page or by calling them directly 561-822-3747.

Let’s bring that yellow to the Grocery Store!

All of these above courtesy of Curate Clothes Boutique. AGOLDE sweatshirt, Policy Handbag and Koch Dress-all made in the US!

Yellow/Mellow! I love the Yellow Color Trend…it’s such a happy sunny color.

But, yellow isn’t always easy to wear so I’ve chosen a bright version, an accessory and a soft yellow dress in gingham…worn open it would serve as a great duster too! All of the above are available again from Curate Clothes Boutique - North Palm Beach-Insta Page.

What do you say? Let’s go on a Safari in our Home Town!

Alice and Olivia/ Zadig and Voltaire /Camelot Dress-only available in the US at Blessed Boutique!

And, finally, one of my all-time favs is the Updated-Safari Trend. Khaki and Olive are great go-to’s for the Spring/Summer months.

The one shown above, by Zimmerman, is beautiful but a bit dramatic for Publix! Here’s how I brought this trend to my life…

The first photo is an Alice and Olivia pant with cargo pockets and drawstring ankle for some added flair. You can find them here…White Cargo Pant.

Zadig and Voltaire is one of my “go to’s” for something a little more edgy and I love this sassy stripe down the side. You can find them here…Pomelo Pant

And another one of my favorite haunts, Blessed Boutique is the only one in the US with this super comfy “safari” type dress. Camelot also uses the stripe down the side for some added “shine.” This fabric is lightweight and has a little bit of stretch so it’s so comfortable and cool! You can find Blessed Boutique here…Blessed Boutique or call them at 561-320-2355

I hope you find these “on trend” suggestions helpful. Like I said…I always love following the Fashion Weeks but want to be able to incorporate them into everyday life. If you try any of these or find inspiration from them, feel free to share them with me on Instagram by tagging @therealchachaolivia and let me know! As you know, it brings me great joy!

April Boutique of the Month...Blessed Boutique!

Theo Pace

IMG_3381.JPG

As you know…It’s quite obvious-I love to shop! But what brings me the most joy is helping women find outfits and wardrobes that fit their lifestyle and, most importantly, make them feel fabulous.

I look for local boutiques that offer unique items and excellent customer service. I love a store and a team, that offers honesty, friendliness and genuine interest in my taste and lifestyle. These are all the things that I like to offer my clients both now (as a personal shopper/stylist) and when I managed stores in the past

When I frequent a store, it’s not just for the clothing and accessories, I want to feel confident when I recommend a store to a client or friend. Melodie van der Baan and Morgan Hatin Bodstrom, of Blessed Boutique, offer the whole package! I hope you get a chance to visit Blessed Boutique and Moxie!

I had the pleasure of meeting Melodie 4 years ago when we first moved to FL. I was so impressed with the level of customer service at Blessed. I am so happy to feature them this month.

Please enjoy getting to know Blessed Boutique, and owners Melodie and Morgan, with our Q and A Session!

How long has Blessed been in business?  It will be 7 years in October.

How did you come up with the name?  Blessed to us has many meanings; we want women to feel blessed when they are shopping with us, whether they are a size 0 or a size 16, as we offer personal, complimentary one-on-one styling. We also want everyone to leave our store feeling blessed by their experience, even if they buy nothing at all! We also believe that we truly can look at our good things in life as blessings, not luck, and we love the feeling of appreciation that goes along with acknowledging all the good we are given.

Tell us about the newest addition to Blessed...Moxie!!! We were inspired to create Moxie by our current customers and their loved ones! Blessed has a very specific timeless, classic, exclusive taste, and if you’re into that, Blessed is your all-time favorite shopping spot! Over the years we realized that our Blessed ladies have friends, daughters, or even grand-daughters who come shopping with them and like a different “cup of tea.” Cue Moxie: a fun spot three doors down where women can come to grab weekday-to-weekend fashion that is on-trend, playful, and with prices averaging between $50-$100. We are finding most of our “Moxie Babes” to be in their 40’s, with them also enjoying their shopping experience with their mother’s and daughters. It’s so fun to see who is enjoying this new creation! (Sizes 00-12)

What is the mission behind Blessed? Blessed empowers women through wardrobe. Our customers become our dearest friends, our muses (inspiration), and the reason for everything we do to constantly improve the in-store experience. Our mission is to go the distance to find them exclusive, top-quality fashion from around the world that is appropriate for their figure and age. When women are “Dressed in Blessed,” they exude a look of elegance and approachability.

And the mission behind Moxie? As the name mentions, marches to its own beat. Effortless, playful and on-trend, Moxie deliveries an elevated shopping experience at a guilt-free price-point. Expect personal styling from our enthusiastic stylists, upbeat music and fashion that brings you back in weekly to see our newest arrivals. Our top secret Moxie mission is to create a vibrant space where mothers and daughters can shop together without a fight.

What brought you and Morgan to retail? Have you always been retail ladies? If not what was your prior career or area of study?

Melodie: Prior to Blessed, I was in the fashion industry working in wholesale; my showroom sold exclusive brands to boutiques nationwide that were similar to Blessed Boutique. Having relationships with the buyers of those gorgeous and successful stores around the country provided me a great amount of wisdom to be able to open a shop and grow it to where it is today.

I opened the store in 2012 with my past partner Samia. Both the store and our personal lives evolved a lot over the years, and in 2017 both of us had babies and in 2018 she decided to stay home with hers, so we found a way to make that happen.

The dress collection always blows me away at Blessed! I love the gold ribbon down the side of this one!

The dress collection always blows me away at Blessed! I love the gold ribbon down the side of this one!

Morgan and I had already been partners in our other company SwapRetail for over three years, so upon looking at the launch of that platform and all we had going on, it made sense for her to be a part of Blessed as well. The opportunity came up to open Moxie at the same time Morgan and I were having these discussions, and everything just seemed to fall into place. Morgan has an amazing eye for interior design, so Moxie’s chic aesthetic is all due to her! She is also crazy organized, which I enjoy the benefits of in all of our companies.

Morgan: I studied Fashion Merchandising in college and lived in NYC for 10 years prior to moving to Florida almost 5 years ago. My prior retail experience includes working with companies such as Ralph Lauren, GAP and Victoria’s Secret prior to moving to the corporate side on the Fashion Industry. I switched over to this aspect of the industry and was a Senior Fashion Recruiter working for a large Fashion Agency for over 6 years focusing on contemporary brands placing candidates both on the retail and wholesale side of the industry. When I moved to Florida and was open to new career opportunities, Melodie sought me out. She was in the very early stages of creating a fashion tech company called SwapRetail, which made a lot of sense to me. The platform would solve a lot of big issues that both wholesalers and retailers have, so I hopped onboard.

What is a typical day like for the Blessed/Moxie team? Our stellar colleagues (Olivia, Aubrey, Debra, Kiera and Jill) pretty much run the ship. They are AMAZING! I don’t know what I love more, being there with them and enjoying them or being able to not be there and knowing they have everything covered! That said, we do run a tight ship. There is tons that needs to happen every day, from styling our clients to inventory to keeping the stores in tip top shape, and of course, keeping up with the buying. Social media is a big part of our retail businesses, so creating content is also a very important part of our day.

Morgan and I are normally on premise as well, zigging and zagging where necessary, but most the time we tend to be working on SwapRetail in the back room unless a “fashion emergency” calls us to the floor.

What is one thing you think your customers should know about your store that they may not be aware of already?

At both Blessed and Moxie, we offer closet clean outs and at home drop offs. Some of our ladies have run out of room in their closets and we love helping them sift and get organized.

For our Blessed ladies, so many simply have no TIME! So we drop off items that are relevant to their sense of style to their homes so they can play dress up in their own closets, then pickup the goodies when they have had a chance to make their selection.

I love your selection of clothing.  It's so different from any larger department stores and lots of boutiques. The quality is beautiful. Having been in retail, I know how difficult it is to find unique lines.  How do you do it?

One of my personal new favs from Blessed! (And not because it’s a Greek designer!)

One of my personal new favs from Blessed! (And not because it’s a Greek designer!)

Listen to our ladies - if they tell me they LOVE something that they saw elsewhere, I take a look at it.

Go the distance - We love trips to Europe to bring our women things that they cannot get anywhere else. This is now about 60% of our merchandise in-store.

Connect with other high-end retailers - Having our other company SwapRetail has been advantageous because we can connect and share with other amazing chic boutiques around the country brands that we each carry to see what else we should be considering.

Stay open-minded - When brands email us to take a look at their collection, we always take a peek. You don’t know what you could be missing out on if you never look!

What are your favorite clothing lines?

Melodie: I love Rosemunde, Susana Monaco, and Byron Lars

Morgan: I live for D. Exterior and Weill Blazers

I have always been so impressed with your enthusiasm!  Families, (Mel has a second baby on the way), three businesses, an incredible team of ladies working at Blessed, you both have so much energy-how do you do it? What do you do for downtime?

I love how elegant even my casual pieces are from Blessed! Here are the Ecru shorts…and they come in a shorter version too!

Morgan: I have a semi newborn who is 6 ½ months old! Mel and I are very similar in that we love what we do. We love to work and almost thrive off of the craziness. I always say “If you love what you do you never work a day in your life!” Having 3 businesses is sometimes easier than having a newborn believe it or not, but if we didn’t have our amazing team of girls none of this would be possible. My downtime usually consists of spending time with my husband, Stefan, our son, Logan and we can’t forget our fur baby Jax! My family is still in NY, so we travel upstate a lot to see them. We also like to go on trips so we always like to try somewhere we haven’t been before. We are itching to go somewhere in Europe for our next long trip. When I need “me time” I like to spoil myself and my one vice is always having my nails perfectly manicured.

Melodie: I agree with Morgan, it hardly feels like working because I love our team and I love a challenge, so even on hard days, when I figure out something tough or get through a busy day, I feel satisfied. Although I am an extravert, when I shut off my work-brain, I like quality time with those I love. My daughter Maris is my JOY. It doesn’t take much for me to enjoy myself immensely; I love sunshine and being low key. Most of my free time is spent with my husband and Maris at home or on a walk, or with my sister and nephews who are my daughter’s age, or my best friend and her daughter, also same age.

Accessories from Blessed always make a great gift for any BFF.

Accessories from Blessed always make a great gift for any BFF.

What are some of the items you are most excited about going forward for Summer?

Melodie: The arrival of my baby boy! And, the official launch of SwapRetail!

Morgan: Seeing all my friends get married, I have 4 weddings coming up this summer. The official launch of SwapRetail and traveling back to NYC often to meet with clients!

Who (or what) most inspires you when it comes to fashion and what you choose to carry at Blessed?

Our Blessed customers, they are at the heart of every move we make.

What are some of your must-haves?

I couldn’t agree more! These are the Ilse Jacobsen slip ons…they are like walking on pillows!

I couldn’t agree more! These are the Ilse Jacobsen slip ons…they are like walking on pillows!

Melodie: Most days, my style is almost a uniform: Susana Monaco dress with knit blazer, or Rosemunde top with DL1961 denim. As for shoes, the Ilse Jacobsen slip on sneaker is a MUST. I have to say there have been only 8 days since last July when I got a pair that I have not worn them!!! I don’t know how on earth I will ever get off this kick.

When I have to get dressed up, I love to pull out a “wow” piece, which will end up normally being D.Exterior or Byron Lars. I am someone who has no shame in wearing something that looks great on me over and over again!

Morgan: A great blazer is my must-have. I probably have over 30 blazers now, thanks to Blessed. I will rock a blazer, white-tee, and jeans with some crazy heel on most days. It is also my staple date night outfit. Also, pretty much any D. Exterior top and the Iris tank tops.

What do you recommend every woman who shops at Blessed try?

This is casual version of the Ecru pant. I love both the casual and more dressed version and they are great! They are the first things I also recommend anyone try!

This is casual version of the Ecru pant. I love both the casual and more dressed version and they are great! They are the first things I also recommend anyone try!

Melodie: The Ecru “Perfect Pant” because they look chic and are washable. You can wear them to the office, the country club, and definitely when traveling, a great closet piece for any occasion.

Morgan: The Iris tank tops, the quality of them is just amazing!

Why I don't Believe in Capsule Wardrobes.

Theo Pace

fullsizeoutput_470b.jpg

I find the whole idea of a capsule wardrobe interesting. I would be very impressed with someone who could work with 33 (or so) items in their wardrobe and be content with it.

What is a capsule wardrobe?

According to Wikipedia “…a capsule wardrobe is a collection of a few essential items of clothing that don't go out of fashion, such as skirts, trousers, and coats, which can then be augmented with seasonal pieces….The term has come to refer to a collection of clothing that is composed of interchangeable items only, to maximize the number of outfits that can be created. The aim is to have an outfit suitable for any occasion without owning excessive items of clothing. This is usually achieved by buying what are considered to be "key" or "staple" items in coordinating colors.”

I tried to understand what the hype is all about with minimalist dressing and the trend towards simplifying. So many things were telling me to embrace simplicity…

I admit, I do stress when my outfit isn’t planned for the day. I get pretty frustrated when I’m throwing things on the bed trying to figure out what to wear (because that does happen…life is busy,) sometimes I don’t get to plan! If I had a lot less to choose from it would make the whole decision making easier. So, why not have less?

Recently my mom sold her home of 30+ years and my sisters and I (mostly my sisters) had to go through all of her belongings with her. It’s much easier to tell someone else it’s “just stuff.” And, donating it or selling it is pretty much the only option if your kids don’t want things. I began to think…”omg! I don’t want to put my kids through this!” Letting go of your “things” is an emotional process. Wouldn’t it be easier for your children if you didn’t save all the letters and greeting cards from over the years?

Finally, I caught a few episodes of Marie Kondo’s new show, “Tidying Up.” You can’t possibly watch her show or read her book and not ask yourself “Does this bring me joy?” when you are trying to decide if you should get rid of something, whether you’re cleaning your office, closet or garage.

What am I missing? Why isn’t Capsule Wardrobing for me? Or even simplifying for that matter?

Untitled design (73).jpg

The next step was to a search on Pinterest for “Capsule Wardrobes.” Yikes!!! Wayyyy too many capsules and honestly, after looking at 20 of them, I felt like “Meh, they all look the same!” I don’t want my wardrobe to consist of 33+ items. I like variety, I like interest.

I have said it before clothes excite me!

If you have ever shopped with me, as a friend or a client, you know the “gasp” I have when something stops me in my tracks. It could be as simple as the smell of the perfume department. If you’ve been following my Instagram or Facebook you know how excited I get when someone tries something “outside their comfort zone” and is really happy with it. I just received a dm from an old friend, out of state, who loved a tee in one of my photos! I was thrilled that she was going to order it! To me, I helped her find something a little different that really worked for her wardrobe and lifestyle.

Clothing does bring me a lot of joy. I enjoy fashion. I enjoy helping other women feel good in what they wear. I love having choices in my wardrobe. I appreciate fashion as an art.

So before you hop on the “Does it bring you joy?” train and you start tossing, donating or selling I would love for you to ask yourself a few questions.

*Are you ok with wearing similar looks over and over?

*Do you believe that the one dress you choose to have in your wardrobe, could cover any occasion?

*Do you think you would be bored with the same 30+ pieces?

*Do you think you would be content with a very basic set of staples taking you in and out of all aspects of your life?

After answering these questions you pretty much know if Capsule Wardrobes are for you.

I want you to get the most out of your wardrobe. I want to help you define your style and build a wardrobe that you love! Most importantly, I want you to feel like you can mix and match things confidently and get use out of all your clothes. I think having a set of staples is a great place to start…but why stop there? Life is too short to stop at 33 pieces.

Head on over to “Ways to Work With Theo,” and let’s start building a wardrobe that excites you and is easy to work with and never leaves you feeling bored!

My Top 10 Duster Picks!

Theo Pace

An OBG (OldieButGoodie) from Styles Ever After by Kim Styles

An OBG (OldieButGoodie) from Styles Ever After by Kim Styles

I love Dusters…as you know! I picked out 10 new favs for you to check out.

Some of these go beyond the scope of a “typical” duster. I have had a few people comment that they love them but can’t carry off the length. So, I wanted to offer a variety for lots of body shapes and heights.

1 Maxi Duster from Styles by Kim

1 Maxi Duster from Styles by Kim

Picks 1 and 2 are from Styles Ever After by Kim. I’m wearing one of her dusters in the picture above and on todays Instagram Post. Some pieces are available to purchase immediately or you can contact Kim and work out customizing one! No two pieces are alike! Kim offers maxi dusters, knee-length, and even sleeveless ones!

The dangerous part of this job is finding all of these great things…I am lusting over this Rolling Stones Duster!

2 Midi Duster from Styles by Kim

2 Midi Duster from Styles by Kim

You can find Kim on Etsy (Maxi Dusters, Sleeveless Dusters and Mid Length Dusters from Kim) or on her website…Styles Every After - use code fashion to view the Lookbook. She also makes lots of other items. I LOVE her pieces…She also designs full leg patchwork pants skirts, dresses and even jeans!

If you check in with her please tell her Chacha-Olivia (Theo) sent you!

Picks 3-6 are all from Johnny Was.

I love how easy their pieces are to style. They travel well, and I can make them go from casual to dressed with a few simple tweaks. Here is the link for the Johnny Was Dusters. I didn’t give individual links because there are so many to look at. I put the names next to the ones I chose so you can easily enter those in the search bar. I would highly recommend you contact Laura or Cicely, at the Johnny Was in Palm Beach Gardens, (561) 694-1640 and talk to them about sizing and/or ordering. They are great! Again, please tell them I sent you and see for yourself what exceptional customer service they offer! They are also really good at setting up your loved one with potential gift ideas too!

3 Alfa Hooded Duster

3 Alfa Hooded Duster

The Alfa Hooded Duster is a nice weighty fabric. Great for those seasonal transition times. Not too long and not too short, I love the black background because it will work well with denim and then even over a little black dress.

Again, here’s the link to the Johnny Was Dusters

4 Tara Kimono

4 Tara Kimono

What is not to love about this Kimono?! A silk Kimono with those beautiful tassles at the bottom can go over denim, dresses, and even a bathing suit!

5 Zuki Kimono

5 Zuki Kimono

And if you like the silk idea but it’s too long ,try this Zuki Kimono. I love the navy and yellow combo on this one. It even has a belt and best of all…it’s on sale! And, when that happens on Johnny Was…ACT FAST!

6 Davis Effortless Coat

6 Davis Effortless Coat

The Davis Effortless Coat is exactly that. Effortless After all the dark colors of Winter, break out some soft creams and florals. Same weighty fabric as the Alfa Hoodie and a little less bulk without the hood. This is more of a traditional duster as it is longer in length. As versatile as they are…I still love them back with denim!!!

7 Short Sleeved Cover Up Kimono

7 Short Sleeved Cover Up Kimono

Picks 7 and 8 are both from Anthropologie.

The Short Sleeve Cover Up Kimono comes in at a great price, $78 and also comes in white! I can picture this over a skinny tank dress and again, beautiful even over a swimsuit. However, if you are a little rough on your clothes…this open weave may be too delicate. Just an FYI.

8 Frye Jadeline Robe

8 Frye Jadeline Robe

I love the look of the Frye Jadeline Robe. The colors are so pretty…great on so many complexions. I think it looks fabulous over the raw edge jeans but can see it paired with any soft white linen or twill pant. I even think both boot and tapered legs could pair back well with it! Try mixing a stripe tee under it too and create a more casual look.

Albian Tie Cuff Duster-Brochu Walker

Albian Tie Cuff Duster-Brochu Walker

Look 9 is from Nordstrom.

And of course, a Black Duster to go over Everything. How could I not offer a basic black?! And yet, it’s anything but basic with that sleeve!!!

10 Alice and Trixie from Curate, North Palm Beach

10 Alice and Trixie from Curate, North Palm Beach

Last but not least is the newest addition to my wardrobe. I love this belted shirt dress for a number of reasons. It’s silk, it’s long and it’s versatile! I wore this to a fashion show this week and loved the colors and the pattern. Have you read my post “Are you an Outfit Repeater?” If you haven’t check it out! One of my favorite ways to wear this dress (or ones like it…short or long) is to rock it over jeans and a tee as a duster…That’s what I’ll be wearing to date night this weekend! Curate still has a couple in the store so give them a call if you’re interested. Ask for Kerry or Lindsay! 561-822-3747. And if you go in lmk and maybe I’ll meet you there! I’m always up for a visit to Curate!

Hope you enjoyed the picks! Please lmk what you think about them in the Instagram or Facebook post that sent you here. I love to hear your comments!
